So, let’s give them a try.

To Eat or Not to Eat? ?Got a big decision to make? Make it on an empty stomach! Well, according to a new study that is!   Researchers from Utrecht University in the Netherlands recently found that people who were hungry were more likely to make better decisions, and in turn see better rewards, than people who were full.  As reported by DiscoverMagazine.com, the study consisted of several groups of students taking what’s called the “Iowa Gambling Task”, a series of risk/reward scenarios that mimic real-life decision making.  Results showed that most  subjects did better at making quick decisions when they were hungry and were also more likely to realize greater long-term rewards rather than go for immediate gratification.  It’s long been thought that the opposite is true, with conventional wisdom saying that being in a “hot state” of emotional or physical duress (for example, being really hungry)  can cause people to make hasty, irrational decisions.  ?Now, researchers for this study are saying people in a ‘hot state’ may rely more on their gut feelings, which could help them make complex decisions. Which state do you function better in?!
