Universal Records recording artist, Nelly who rapped his way into two 2003 Grammy awards has now launched a new energy drink appropriately named after his hit song "Pimp Juice." Some reviews are that it is a pretty good tasting beverage (we'll have to try it!).
But, Pimp Juice is getting criticism from conservatives. In fact, Reverend Paul Scott, founder of the Messianic Afrikan Nation is being vocal about his feelings, saying that the drink glamorizes being a pimp and promotes drinking by suggesting that Pimp Juice goes great with vodka.
Nelly on the other hand defines the meaning of Pimp Juice as "Whatever you using to win with right now, that's your juice--that's your pimp juice."
The product itself doesn't seem like it is much different from other energy drinks such as Red Bull, which is also promoted as a great vodka mixer. But, the name Pimp Juice could hurt the sales….or really help!
