Kitty Friendly Cafe Opening in New York

Many restaurants around the country allow dogs to join their owners on their outdoor patios as they dine, but cats have yet to enjoy that same luxury. That’s why Manhattan felines and their owners are marking their calendars for August 17th, the grand opening of the new Meow Mix Café. Located in the heart of Midtown Manahattan at 489 5th Avenue, the new cat-friendly hang out will offer a unique culinary experience for both cats and owners.
The café will offer seven varieties of the new Meow Mix Wet Food Pouches. Fluffy can sink her teeth into a dish of Cluck-a-Doodle Doo, Deep Sea Delight, Fillet Meow, Gobbliscious, Hook, Line and Sinker, Upstream Dream or What’s the Catch?. And to make for a more bonding experience, Fluffy’s owner will be able to order the companion human dish, for example tenderloin beef on a baguette with horseradish sauce for the owner accompanied by Fillet Meow for kitty.
Hosting an array of scratching posts, catnip-filled toy mice, games, and fishing for prizes, a visit to the Meow Mix Café will be like a visit to Disneyland for a kid.
"Cats are such a key part of so many people's lives, yet there are very few public places that are cat friendly," said Richard Thompson, CEO and Top Cat of The Meow Mix Company. "With the Meow Mix Cafe, we've turned this situation on its head, with the creation of the world's first cafe that literally caters to felines and, incidentally, is owner friendly as well!"
All proceeds from the grand opening will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). In addition, the ASPCA will be conducting cat adoptions at the cafe on August 18th and 19th.
The company hopes the success of the flagship Meow Mix Cafe in New York City will lead to other openings around the country or possibly a mobile cafe on wheels for touring to other cities.
