Food Store Sales Up 7.7% In August, Grocery Stores Up 3.9%

The Food Institute reports this week that the nation’s food and beverage retailers saw sales jump 7.7% in August - the largest monthly year over year increase this year. This brought sales through Sept. 1 of 2012 to nearly $419 billion or 3.7% more than last year.
