The App Review: Clean and Green Eating

Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s Clean and Green Eating – find out what the Lempert Report thought.

What it says it does: The Clean & Green Eating App includes an abundance of healthy recipes for the whole family to enjoy! We purposely kept the recipes simple and started from basics to encourage you to have more fun in the kitchen. We tried to make our recipes as simple but as tasty as possible so you will never get bored. Clean & Green Eating is a lifestyle where you are inspired to nourish your body with the healthiest foods – fresh or closest to its natural state with the least amount of processing.

What it actually does: The Clean & Green Eating App is a recipe app that boasts over 60 recipes - with free regular additions. All are inventive and use healthy whole ingredients. The app even posts nutrition information for each recipe. Search for specific ingredients in your pantry and the app will pull up all of the recipes with that ingredient. There is also a built in shopping list so you can easily add ingredients from recipes or add your own personal items. Each recipe is clearly marked as raw, vegan, vegetarian, dairy free or nut free, so you can personalize the settings to filter the recipes to suit your specific dietary requirements. Users can also save favorites for quick reference.

How useful is the information for target audience?: The app is great for healthy fresh recipes; for example: apple quinoa and oat bites or coconut cream. And if you are looking for more recipes, new are added regularly and you can purchase more recipes for a small fee.

Ease of use: The app is very easy to use with a clean and bright, user-friendly interface. For example, while cooking, you can even mark off your steps as you go. 

Who would best benefit from the app?: Anyone looking to cook healthy meals and snacks from whole healthy foods. Additionally, if you have dietary preferences or allergies, or are cooking for someone who does, the app will serve you well.
