The App Review: Fridgely

Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s Fridgely – find out what the Lempert Report thought.

What it says it does: Keep track of your food, know when it expires, find recipes and love your fridge again. Fridgely makes it incredibly easy to know when the food in your fridge is going to expire. Just enter your food using our convenient barcode scanner, from your list of favorites or manually and Fridgely will always know what you have in your fridge. Fridgely will even send you intelligent alerts when it notices that some of your food is going to expire soon.

What it actually does: The Fridgely app keeps track of what’s in your refrigerator and when it will expire. In addition, you can search for recipes based on the ingredients you already have and if you need a few ingredients, Fridgely will let you know exactly what you need.

How useful is the information for target audience?: The app is very useful as you will be able to avoid spoiled milk and moldy food in your refrigerator and pantry. Also you’ll be a more efficient shopper, because you’ll know exactly what’s in your house and you’ll never come home without an item again!

Ease of use: The app is very easy to use. Just use the barcode scanner or enter the information manually. Set up your favorites, and you’ll never mindlessly waste food again. You could even scan the items when you are waiting in the checkout line at the supermarket!

Who would best benefit from the app?: Anyone who finds themselves buying duplicate items or with a lot of spoiled food in their refrigerator, would benefit from Fridgely. With all of the food wasted these days, Fridgely gives you an easy way not to contribute to the problem!
