Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s Handpick – find out what the Lempert Report thought.

What it says it does: Get a box of 12-15 whole ingredients, paired with three themed recipes shipped to you with the Smart Groceries feature. Discover trending recipes on Instagram and blogs. See what pairs with the ingredients in your fridge. And explore or create curated recipe themes

What it actually does: Handpick is a great delivery service for any meal: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, sides, dessert, shakes, and smoothies. Users can pick ingredients from a list of over 10,000 items and see what they pair well with. The app will also give you recipe ideas and cards so you know exactly what to do with the items once they arrive at your door. Know what you liked? Save dishes and categorize them by diet, occasions, ingredients, cuisines, and more. Need inspiration for your next delivery? Browse a curated feed of the best content from Instagram and the web, and quickly find your next meal.

How useful is the information for target audience?: Handpick is a great service for those who want to minimize time spent in the grocery store. Let someone else do the shopping – but still love to plan meals and cook at home. With a ton of recipe inspiration Handpick users will never run into an eating rut!

Ease of use: The app is very easy to use and makes having home cooked meals that much easier!

Who would best benefit from the app?: California residents only at this point! As the service is only available in CA. But the app is great for those who don’t have time to shop but love to cook.

Cost: App is Free, pay for the cost of groceries.
