The App Review: Kitchen Aid Kit Pro

Each week we review a food related app, this week it’s Kitchen Aid Kit Pro – find out what the Lempert Report thought.

What it says it does: Make cooking quick and fun! Use your iPad to weigh things, count calories, and store products. Kitchen Aid Kit Pro will change your idea of what your iPad is capable of.

What it actually does: After launching the application, you see a glass on a small stand. By touching the screen you can easily change the glass’ shape and size. Fill it to the desired amount with a choice of 30 foods from whole almonds to oat flakes, and you’ll automatically know how many calories and the measurement - in a variety of units.

Confused by various measurements? Kitchen Aid Kit Pro allows you to choose your system of measurement - imperial or metric units, and convert them quickly.

The app also has cooking timers - six of them! So forget about burning food; each timer has its unique beep and can be named! So you will be reminded when every pot, pan and muffin tin is finished cooking.

Kitchen Aid Kit Pro also has a feature that tells you how long to keep perishables in the refrigerator or freezer. From different cuts of meat to dairy and fruit, you’ll know exactly how long to keep these items and hopefully get to use them before they expire.

How useful is the information for target audience?: The app is very useful for those interested in converting measurements, trying to understand visually what their portions should look like and the accompanying calorie counts, as well as knowing how long to keep foods in the fridge or freezer. The app has a variety of useful functions for all types of cooks.
