Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s Meal’o’Meter – find out what the Lempert Report thought.
What it says it does: Meal’o’Meter is a family meal planner with access to 500+ dishes from different cuisines around the world, including primarily Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian and more. The app helps moms across the world solve one of the most toughest questions: What should I cook today?
What it actually does: Meal’o’Meter enables setting up a weekly or daily meal plan, up to 6 months in advance. All dishes are classified by meal time enabling users to search for a particular dish. Users can also add their own dishes and designate favorite dishes. Meal’o’Meter enables meal sharing via Facebook, WhatsApp, Email and SMS. It helps home cooks avoid repetitive meals and can help users have a more varied and balanced diet.
How useful is the information for target audience?: The app is great for those who like to plan meals ahead of time, but there are no actual recipes in the app so users would already have to have the recipes or search for them somewhere else.
Ease of use: Meal’oMeter is very easy to use and share meal plans with family, friends and more.
Who would best benefit from the app?: Those who like planning ahead, but keep in mind that you will have to find recipes elsewhere. Meal’oMeter is looking to add recipes in the next iteration of the app.
