Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s Nommunity – find out what the Lempert Report had to say.

What it says it does: Nommunity makes it easy to discover and share restaurants with a collaborative community of people who eat the way you eat. Food Community helps you discover Vegan, Vegetarian, Kosher, Gluten-Free, Locally Grown and Organic restaurants across the US. It's a cinch to get detailed information, place orders and make reservations while traveling or on-the-go.

What it actually does: Nommunity connects its users with their food preferences whether they are vegetarian, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, organic or locavore. Check off your preference and you’ll be connected with restaurants in your area or any area you desire on the map. If you’re traveling or at home you’ll find new spots that fill your food preferences. You can even visit the restaurants website or call directly, all of the information provided to you directly by Nommunity.

How useful is the information for target audience?: The information is very useful for those looking for specific restaurants with their food preferences - located in their area or desired location. Finding restaurants with a specific preference is something that many consumers are interested in, and if looking for a restaurant to satisfy a group’s needs, Nommunity is perfect.

Ease of use: The app is very easy to use. Select your location, slide the restaurant preferences on or off and head back to the map. A variety of selections will pop up on the map giving you plenty of options.

Who would best benefit from the app?: The app is great for anyone looking to try new restaurants, for those trying to follow new food plans, or even when traveling to find a restaurant that is right for the whole family.
