Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s Snap by Groupon – find out what the Lempert Report thought.

What it says it does: Snap gives you cash back on everyday grocery purchases - no matter where you shop. Offers work at any store, and you never have to hassle with clipping or redeeming paper coupons. Just follow these simple steps: 1) Download the app, 2) Browse offers before you shop, 3) Purchase promoted products at any store, 4) Snap a photo of your receipt and get cash in your account!

What it actually does: All you do is browse the deals and select the ones you want to take advantage of. Snap a photo of your receipt when you're finished shopping and Snap will credit the money to your account. When your account balance hits $20 or more you can tap "cash out" to receive the money. Some of the deals are brand dependent, while others aren't. Additionally, you’ll get $1 for each friend you refer.

How useful is the information for target audience?: The app is very useful for saving money and not having to hassle with clipping coupons. It’s also great that you can use the deals in any store you visit.

Ease of use: Snap is as easy as, browsing the deals on the app, clicking the ones you want and then uploading your receipt. Your receipt will be reviewed within 48 hours and money will be added to your account for qualifying items.

Who would best benefit from the app?: Anyone who likes saving money, but doesn’t necessarily want to have to search circulars and clip coupons.
