The App Review: SugarChecked

Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s SugarChecked – find out what the Lempert Report thought.

What it says it does: Avoid products that stimulate diabetes, cancer, obesity and so much more. SugarChecked aims to bring awareness to consumers about hidden sugars in the foods purchased everyday.  Save time while grocery shopping. Scan the products barcode and get instant recommendations to a healthier sugar free or lower sugar product.

What it actually does: SugarChecked helps shoppers decide if a product is right for them based on its sugar content. Scan the barcode and see if there are added sugars, artificial sweeteners, natural low-calorie sweeteners, or sugar alcohols. In addition the app has great low or no sugar recipes. The database is daily updated by a team of nutritional experts.

How useful is the information for target audience?: The app is great for those who want to lower their sugar intake, or need to based on health reasons. It’s like a pocket dietitian looking out for you while you shop.

Ease of use: Just scan the barcode and you are ready to go!

Who would best benefit from the app?: Anyone looking to lower their sugar intake, loose weight, improve their blood sugar numbers, boost immunity, and much more!
