Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s Whole Foods Market Recipes.
What it says it does: Looking for healthy and delicious food? Search Whole Foods Market Recipes for recipes featuring the finest natural and organic foods. You can search recipes by ingredients and dietary preferences such as gluten-free, low fat, and vegetarian/vegan. The app also provides a shopping list where users can add ingredients from a recipe automatically, including quantities as well as adding items by hand.
What it actually does: Whole Foods Market Recipes app provides healthy, colorful recipes which users can search by course, category (examples: budget, cooking with kids, no cook, make ahead, etc.), and special diets like gluten free, vegan, and more. Users can also search recipes by entering up to three items they have on hand to find recipes using those ingredients. The app of course has a Whole Foods store locator. Each store page includes links to the store website and specials on sale at your local Whole Foods Market.
How useful is the information for target audience?: The information is great for users, the recipe instructions are clear and all recipes include nutritional information and cooking instructions. The only issue would be if users didn’t have a Whole Foods, a natural market, or well stocked grocery store in their area – finding some ingredients like quinoa flour might be tough.
Ease of use: Whole Foods Market Recipes is easy to use, well organized and the recipe photos are absolutely mouth watering, which makes browsing recipes an absolute blast!
Who would best benefit from the app?: Anyone who is interested in cooking, learning new recipes, and especially trying new (mostly) healthy foods would benefit from this app.
