Marina's Tomato Sauce is a HIT!

This "fresh from the Ozarks" sauce has a very good fresh tomato flavor - no question. Made with vine ripened plum tomatoes, tomato juice and tomato puree. I did find the sauce a bit thin (that's probably the tomato juice) and you'll really need to add your own spices if you want more than just a great tomato flavor. One surprise was when I poured into a saucepan to heat, out plopped a beige, almost 3/4" piece of I dunno what. It scared me. Then I looked and it was a whole garlic clove. Nice addition, but it also didn't have any garlic flavor. One-half cup is just 35 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 4 grams of sugars.
