Meet Goldbot, the personal L.A. food concierge who also happens to be the robot twin of the LA Times acclaimed food critic Jonathan Gold.
Ask Goldbot where to eat on Facebook Messenger, and he’ll serve up a recommendation just for you. Launched in December, Goldbot was limited to recommendation of the Gold’s 101 Best Restaurant List – its now expanded to over 300 restaurants reviewed over the past two years and is being relaunched.
Here’s how it works. Just tap the button to tell Goldbot what you want to eat, where you want to eat or how much you want to pay. You can also find out what Jonathan Gold ate this week.
The LA Times says you can still chitchat with Goldbot, and here are some of their favorite things to ask him:
• Do you love me?
• What’s better? In-N-Out, the Habit or Five Guys?
• Tell me your deepest, darkest secret.
• Do you dance?
Knock, knock!
Fun aside, this is a great model for every newspaper restaurant review – and also yet one more reason for Grocerants to reach out to these influencers and get them to visit and review your Grocerant!
