Here's what's happening this week in Food News
We are never content with the diet we swore we would stick with. Atkins, Pritikin, South Beach, The Color Diet and even Paleo seem to get upstage with what’s new. And what’s new in the diet world is called Sirt. This diet which includes red wine and dark chocolate, as all diets should (in my opinion) is based on foods and beverages that activate the sirtuin proteins that are in our bodies which regulate our biology of aging, cellular death, inflammation, metabolism and the damage to our cells from stress.
Londoners Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten, both nutritionists, wrote the new book The Sirtfood Diet, which according to their research increases the speed of weight loss and can even counterbalance the effects of “junk food.”
So what does the diet propose we eat besides red wine and dark chocolates? How about black coffee, blueberries, parsley, turmeric, walnuts, green tea,
celery, chilli, kale, apples, buckwheat, capers, extra virgin olive oil, turmeric and red
onion.
The authors actually tested the diet on 40 gym goers at a upscale health club they consult at and found that all lost 7 lbs in 7 days. The cost of the diet for those 7 days in US dollars: $2,099.40O. Our advice, before you embark on any diet, is to check with your own doctor or registered dietitians to see if it’s the right one for you!
Move over Kendall Jenner, Pizza Hut has introduced high fashion in its “Hut Swag” so if you decided that this was the perfect gift to give on Valentine’s Day I would guess that these days you are eating alone at Pizza Hut after your significant other gave you a pie in the face.
