June is National Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Month!  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that we “celebrate by eating a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables all month long!” But what do we do when our gardens give us more delicious tomatoes and blueberries than we can possibly devour?  Phil talks with Angela Williams Duea, author of The Complete Guide to Food Preservation with tips on preventing your food from spoiling.

Vitamin D has been a hot topic in the media lately, said to play a vital role in the health of our muscles, bones, immune system, and is thought act in almost every organ system in the body.  But, diet is not a major source of vitamin D,” according Dr. Sarfraz Zaidi, Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA and Director of the Jamila Diabetes and Endocrine Medical Center in Southern California.  In his book, The Power of Vitamin D, Dr. Zaidi dispels the myth that drinking 2 cups of milk a day will provide the vitamin D we need.  He joins Phil with the details.
