Each week we review a food related app. This week it’s TruxMap Food Truck Map – find out what the Lempert Report thought.
What it says it does: Find and book the best gourmet food trucks with TruxMap powered by Roaming Hunger, your live compass for chowing down at the best gourmet food trucks, food trailers and food carts. Locate and explore the world of food trucks serving everything from Korean BBQ tacos to chocolate caramel crème brûlée. Discover Secret Offers from food trucks only available in the TruxMap App.
What it actually does: Look no further for food truck dining options. With TruxMap (or Roaming Hunger) you can see which food trucks are currently open, indicated by a green pin. Knowing when and where the food trucks will be open can help you plan your meals and discover new food trucks and cuisines. Found some favorite food trucks? The app allows you to sort vendors by who you like best and highlight your list on a map. When checked against another food truck locator app, TruxMap didn’t list all of the local food trucks. If you are going to use TruxMap, know that it’s a great idea, but it’s possible that not all of the food trucks in your area are listed in the app.
How useful is the information for target audience?: The app is great, not only to help find local food trucks, but also to help you decide what to eat with the TruxMap selected dishes guide. See menus and photos from vendors. And learn more about food truck vendors with food truck profiles and descriptions.
Ease of use: The app is very easy to use at it can use your current location to show you the closest food trucks.
Who would best benefit from the app?: Anyone who loves discovering new foods and food trucks. The app aggegates all of the location information, so users don’t have to follow and track every food truck on twitter.
