Coffee Smoothie

Start the day right with this delicious and satisfying breakfast shake, or drink it up mid-afternoon when you need an energy lift. The banana should make it sweet enough, but you can add a sweetener, to taste. It’s easy, simple, and so good - take the second serving to work in a thermos!
If calories are not an issue, add a teaspoon of chocolate syrup. Want more zip for the effort? Add 2 tablespoons of protein powder.

This recipe makes one huge or two modest servings.

Coffee Smoothie Ingredients:
3/4 to 1 cup freshly brewed original blend or vanilla coffee, cooled
1 medium banana, peeled (slightly frozen ones are great in this shake)
1 Tbsp sugar, honey or Splenda®, optional
1 1/2 cups low-fat or nonfat yogurt (plain or vanilla)
1 drop pure vanilla extract

Directions:
Before you take your shower, put the brewed coffee in a shallow pan and place it in the freezer.
Thinly slice the banana and put it into the freezer in a baggie or on a plate.
Put a large glass in the fridge to chill. Get dressed.
Stir the coffee a little until it becomes slushy and combine it in a blender jar with the banana and sweetener, blending until smooth.
Add the yogurt and vanilla extract. Blend again and taste, adjusting sweetener as necessary.
Pour into chilled glass, drink, and head out for a power-packed day!

Hey, you say, who has time for freezing? No problem, just add all the ingredients in a blender with 3-4 ice cubes, blend on high for a minute or two until smooth, and drink.
