This week we are celebrating National Ice Cream month! What makes frozen custard different is egg yolks are in the recipe. By law custards only have to have 1.4% egg yolk by weight and tha package doesn't say just how much it contains, which I wish it did. The chocolate malt flavor is good and not heavy - just the right balance. My recommendation is to let it melt just a little and the flavors come through stronger. One-half cup has 200 calories, 9 grams of fat, and 17 grams of sugars. Would I switch from regular Dreyer's ice cream? I wouldn't - but let me know if you would.
