Another Reason to Visit Costco

The Lempert Report
December 18, 2015

It's not just for sampling food.

Many people head to Costco for the free food samples, but there is even a food better reason to head over.

Most Costcos have food courts. Some are inside the store, some are outside where even non-members can purchase g foods at below average prices. For a buck fifty you can buy a Kirkland hot dog and a soda, or get a giant slice of pizza made the NY way for just $1.99 - or the entire pizza pie for just $9.99 - Papa John better watch his back. In fact Costco with over 400 locations is the 15th largest pizza chain in the US. How many hot dogs do they sell? Last year it was over 100 million!

Not all Costco locations have the same menu offerings - the frank, pizza, chicken caesar salad, ice cream sundaes and chicken bakes are all the staples but depending on your area you may find wraps, baked potatoes and sandwiches. One thing for sure is you won’t over pay for that meal and its smart marketing to have you shopping on a full belly and having you stay in the store longer. If you do go to check it out, be sure to ask the counter person for their nutritional information list, you may be surprised to see that one slice of cheese pizza has 1370 mg of sodium, 700 calories and 28 grams of fat.
