Martha admitted that cell phone usage at a table in a private home is rude, with the caveat that this rule pertains specifically to individual homes rather than large-scale gatherings. And that's interesting to me, because dinners at big events, she says, like award ceremonies, are fair game for phone use because of our busy schedules and overlapping commitments. So she's saying, if you're out and about, yeah, use your cell phone. If you're at an award dinner, if you're gonna be invited to the Oscars this year, okay, you can use your cell phone. But if you're going to somebody's house, that's a no-no.
