Non browning GMO apples & potatoes from two different companies have passed FDA inspection. Despite concerns from consumer and environmental groups, the FDA said the apples and potatoes are “as safe and nutritious as their conventional counterparts.” You should see these apples on the store in 2017, and potatoes in just a few months.

A HEALTHIER, TASTIER CHOCOLATE?!
Listen up chocolate lovers! Scientists are developing a new chocolate that's tastier and healthier!
Researchers from Ghent University in Belgium and the University of Ghana have come up with a new technique where the cacao beans are roasted at a lower temperature and bean pods are left unopened for five days rather than split open right away. According to their testing, this enables a high concentration of polyphenol without losing quality of taste. No word yet on when we'll get to test out this new chocolate…

"PALCOHOL" MAY BE HEADED TO A STORE NEAR YOU
The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau have approved a powdered alcohol called Palcohol!
Speaking with the Associated Press, Bureau spokesman Tom Hogue recently announced that four varieties of Palcohol were approved, although he noted that states can also regulate alcohol sales in their borders. The powder comes in a pouch and you simply add water to make your drink.  Not everyone loves the idea, however, with critics having a long list of concerns including its use by minors, as well as the ease by which it could be snuck into events, or even used to spike drinks. Palcohol however, is moving ahead with plans, announcing on their website that they hope to have the product for sale this summer.
