Walmart is embarking on an image makeover - one they hope speaks loud and clear to Americans. The store recently rolled out a national television and digital advertising campaign to highlight the companies’ low prices as well as their creation of job opportunities. In addition, a website - the real Walmart dot com - contains several videos and a Q & A presentation about their energy saving efforts In a time where Walmart has faced criticism over everything from bribery allegations to poor factory conditions, the company is looking for positive and optimistic messages to show it’s still relevant. As Bill Simon, president and chief executive officer of Walmart U.S. says “We have wanted to do this for a long time because we know that people trust Walmart even more when they understand the opportunities we provide our associates, who the customers are that shop with us and how we deliver low prices,” He goes on to say that the reason for the campaign is to correct the misconceptions that exist about Walmart – “We wanted to talk directly to the public and tell them the whole story”.
