Each week, we review a food related app. This week we feature a recipe finder called Dinner Spinner by Allrecipes.com

What it says it does: Dinner Spinner is a fun and easy way to find awesome recipes. Search by ingredient or give your phone or iPad a shake to get the spinner started. Search by dish, cooking time, and ingredient, and find recipes that match your gluten-free, vegetarian, or other diet. Start a shopping list with the recipe ingredients, and you can add other foods that are not on the recipe. It's a great tool and ensures you won't leave anything out!

What it actually does: Dinner Spinner is a great app for someone who is new to cooking or wants to try new ingredients or recipes. With tons of user generated and user rated recipes, Dinner Spinner not only can help provide variety to your diet but can also help you include new foods you’ve never tried cooking before like rhubarb in Aunt Norma’s Rhubarb Muffins. And it’s not just great for dinner but all meals and snacks.

How useful is the information for target audience?: The information is great for users, the recipe instructions are clear, and nutrition information is provided directly under the recipe, so if you are looking to stay within a certain target for calories, fat, carbohydrates, etc, Dinner Spinner spells it out for you. Users can also view ratings and comments for each recipe and see how other users might have changed the recipe or have suggestions.

Ease of use: Dinner Spinner is easy and fun to use. You can even get the kids involved by spinning to see what’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Who would best benefit from the app?: Anyone who is interested in cooking, learning new recipes, or trying new foods would benefit from this app.

Cost: Free, but upgrades are available for $0.99 -$2.99 to Dinner Spinner Pro.
